I have a moleskin notebook that I've used for sketches, and was looking for good gifts for a friend who is a very talented artist. I liked this red cover version, since the ones I've had were always black. She loved it and I hope it goes to good use, filling up with her awesome drawings!
If you or someone you know is an artist and wants a quality sketchbook to carry around that's durable and attractive, check out this one! It's great!

This is the same as the large black Moleskine sketchbook, except the cover is red. The paper is cream-colored and very smooth. It can take acrylic paint, but it doesn't absorb water very well at all. If you are looking to use watercolors, Moleskine makes watercolor notebooks that you could use instead.
But beyond that, Moleskines make drawings look great! There's something about the color of the pages that sets sketches apart from books with white pages. Especially if you scan them and see them on a screen.
I go to an art school, and moleskines are everywhere! It's nice to have a bright red cover to set mine apart from the others.
